Olkuskie Wyroby Emaliowane (Olkusz Enamelware Manufactory), founded in 2019 by Krzysztof Madej, is one of them. After 16 years working at the historic Emalia Olkusz – one of Poland’s most recognized enamelware factories, originally established in 1907 – he knew every step of traditional enamel production. Every detail that turns steel into durable, handcrafted enamelware.
When the legendary factory closed in 2018, it looked like the end of a story.
But in reality, it was just the beginning of a new chapter. Because products can disappear. Machines can stop. But know-how, the real craft, lives in people.
That’s why this enamelware manufacturer was built on what truly matters: experience, proven processes, and enamel technology that has remained unchanged for over 100 years.
And most importantly – people. Former factory craftsmen, with a lifetime of experience in enamel production, now form the heart of the manufactory, continuing generations-old craftsmanship.

Building Olkuskie Wyroby Emaliowane Manufactory from the ground up took courage, expertise, and determination. The production is new—but its foundation remains unchanged: people who have mastered traditional enamel production for decades.
To this day, the manufactory uses a time-tested process that has remained almost unchanged for over 100 years.
Each piece of handcrafted enamelware goes through multiple stages: steel forming, hand-applied enamel coating, high-temperature firing, and manual finishing with quality control.
